Design Details

Current technology

Up-to-date technology has been used to design and produce a camping trailer that is reliable, practical and comfortable:

  • CAD: ‘computer aided design’ used for assembly drawings
  • CAM: computer aided manufacture
  • CNC: efficient and accurate computer controlled production equipment

Exterior details

And from inside:

  • Flush ‘no lip’ doorway (with automotive rubber seals) removable fitted floor covering for easy cleaning
  • Through-floor access to water tank for easy draining and internal cleaning

Suspension

  • Custom engineered, high strength, independent trailing arm suspension system
  • Air bags allow adjustment to tow height for sealed roads, off road, and changes in weight
  • Centralised air valve station for individual (left & right) suspension height adjustment
  • Heavy duty shock absorbers
  • Replaceable stub axles (carry a spare)
  • Zeon rubber bump stops

Electrics

  • Two chassis mounted 120 a/h AGM batteries, housed in lockable (checker-plate) boxes
  • Heavy duty cabling (6 B&S) with Anderson plug for charging from tow vehicle
  • Comprehensive, heavy duty wiring, switch panel and fuse protection
  • All wiring is run with maximum cable protection as a priority
  • Efficient 25 amp C TEK smart charger
  • Lighting: bed Lamps, overhead fluorescent and LED courtesy light
  • 4 power outlets: 12 volts
  • Sink: 12 volt pump

Panel assembly

Exterior and interior panels are secured to the body frame using polyurethanes or adhesive tapes.

  • creates an extremely strong and permanent bond
  • used worldwide in the construction of cars, buses, motor homes, trucks and semi-trailers
  • no point loading/point failure problems due to loading distributed over the whole area of adhesion (not one fixed point)

Chassis

  • 100 x 50 x 2.5 RHS chassis main rails
  • 75 x 75 x 5 RHS main cross member to carry the suspension system
  • Industry best practice techniques are used for welding of chassis and reinforcing plates
  • All welds are longitudinal, radial or diagonal to minimize stress risers
  • Major stress points are all reinforced with 5mm, fully welded plates
  • Hot dip galvanized main chassis and body frame (not pre-galvanized with painted welds)
  • Flex-mounted accommodation module (similar to 4 x 4 body mounts)
  • Extendable drawbar enhances towing, reversing, and weight distribution characteristics
  • Retracted drawbar affords manoeuvrability in tight off road conditions and easier storage
  • Electric drum brakes for controlled braking, in any conditions
  • Efficient, high quality parking brake
  • 15 or 16 inch steel wheels with your choice of stud pattern
  • Practical wheel track width, which suits tight bush and beach track conditions
  • 2 position (high or low) off-road/50mm ball
  • All heavy loads attach directly to the chassis (storage box, batteries, jerry cans, gas bottles)
